The Toronto Dominion Bank is a facit of the TD Bank Financial
Group. TD is a full service Bank that offers a full range of
financial products and services to approximately 13 million
customer worldwide in the areas of retail banking,
self-directed brokerage, corporate and investment banking,
mutual funds and investment management and commercial banking.
My involvement to TD's web presence was entirely internal. None of my work is available online for users to view and interact with. For those who are interested I do have some examples of Lotus Notes/Domino development available offline. TD's intranet was comprised of three individual areas. These included branch, corporate and departmental. The branch section was primarily run by a group external to the Intranet Services department and consisted of branch and customer related information. The corporate section was owned by the Intranet Services group and provided information not only to employees located at the head office, but also to staff in the branches as well as offsite locations such as the data centres. Intranet Services developed and maintained all content in this area using HTML, DHTML, javascript, graphics development as well as Lotus Notes/Domino. The departmental section of the intranet was, from Intranet Services' perspective, the business area of it's focus. This included site development, user training, application development, client support for Lotus Notes as well as HTML, and javascript. Originally, I was responsible for all aspects of TD's Intranet project, branch level content excluded. I was Lotus/UNIX Adminstrator, Lotus/web developer, and primarily customer liason. As additional people were brought onto the project and we became our own department, I began and eventually fit into the back end. I dealt with application development, upgrades, Y2K testing. I also dealt with the more indepth or difficult problems that clients encountered in their web publishing. Clients I dealt with included: |
